Back in May and early June, there was quite a discussion about Indians attendance woes; how expensive the games can be, especially when you include parking, food, drinks, gas, etc. on top of the ticket prices. I already went over how to get free tickets to Indians games, and now the Indians have stepped up to help lower the cost of everything else!
I know, WHEN WILL THE INDIANS GET A RIGHT-HANDED STICK?! Word is they are working on that, as well.
Indians President Mark Shapiro announced the following new fan-focused transportation & concessions initiatives last Friday:
- #FREETransportWeekend: Games July 20th-22nd include free parking at the Gateway East Garage with an advance ticket purchase. Free RTA service when showing Indians game day ticket. Free shuttle service from Ohio City (loading station on the corner of W.25th and Market Ave).
- Classic Combo Deals: $8 = Hot Dog Classic Combo Deal: Sugardale all-beef hot dog + Large popcorn +16 oz. Pepsi product Or a Brat Classic Combo Deal: 1 brat +1 12 oz. beer…not too shabby.
- Reduced RTA Fares: Following Free Transportation Weekend, fans will see reduced pricing when traveling on RTA with a valid game day ticket. RTA is really dedicated to accomodating families trying to get to the game.
Personally, I’ll be taking full advantage of the free shuttle from W. 25th & Market Ave before Friday’s game. Half-priced pizzas & dollar off drafts @GLBC_Cleveland..?! Yes, please.
Also noted: I’ll be in Philly this weekend, but I’d encourage you all to attend the Burning River Festival July 21st-22nd. The event will feature over 30 musical groups, a fish fry, and last but definitely not least… CHRISTMAS ALE!
